2025 A Level and GCSE Results

This summer, STAGS students have celebrated exceptional success at both A Level and GCSE, achieving results that showcase not only students’ determination, resilience and ambition, but also the unwavering dedication of STAGS staff and the steadfast support of families across our community.

Level 3: A Level & BTEC

This year’s A Level results have been extremely impressive, with 66% of all entries awarded grades A–B*, putting STAGS 11% above the national average. Amongst the many successes, 19 students achieved straight A and A* grades across all three subjects. Of particular note is the strength across subjects: 12 subjects achieved 100% A–C*, including Further Mathematics with 100% A–A* and Politics with 71% A–A*. BTEC Health and Social Care students also excelled, achieving a 100% pass rate with half securing Distinction* or Distinction grades.

Students’ destinations reflect the breadth of their ambitions and talents, with many securing places at prestigious institutions including Cambridge, UCL, King’s College London, Warwick, Leeds, Nottingham, Liverpool, Cardiff and Hertfordshire. Over 60% of students secured their first choice university place, with more than half progressing to Russell Group universities. We are also delighted to see students embarking on degree level apprenticeships in areas of growing demand, supported by our Step Up programme, which has played a pivotal role in preparing students for life beyond Year 13. Students will now go on to study a diverse range of courses, from Medicine, Psychology, Economics and Computer Science to Costume Design, Midwifery, Digital Media, Vet Medicine and Civil Engineering, showcasing the variety of pathways our students pursue.

These results and destinations are richly deserved, and we congratulate every student on their accomplishments.

Level 2: GCSE

The atmosphere at STAGS on GCSE results day was filled with pride and celebration as Year 11 students opened envelopes containing an exceptional set of outcomes. Collectively, the cohort secured 210 Grade 9s and achieved remarkable results across the full curriculum. 90% of STAGS students achieved grades 9-4 compared to the national average of 67%. Equally, 39% of all grades awarded were 9-7, and in nine subjects, more than half of the cohort achieved these top grades - a remarkable achievement. Beyond the statistics, these results are a testament to the hard work, resilience and ambition of STAGS students, who should feel incredibly proud of what they have accomplished. We also pay tribute to our staff, whose tireless dedication inspires and supports students every day, and to families, whose encouragement has been invaluable.

Students are now moving on to a wide variety of Post 16 pathways. The majority are looking forward to continuing their studies at STAGS Sixth Form, while others are pursuing exciting routes in Travel and Tourism, Digital Content Production, Mechanics, Animal Care, Catering, and Child Care - and many more! We extend a huge congratulations to every student at both GCSE and A Level and wish them all the very best as they take their next steps. Students' results are not only a celebration of individual achievement but also a reflection of our supportive community at STAGS. We cannot wait to see the positive impact these young people will go on to make in the world.
